IS WOOLWORTH RACIST ?

Warning what I have posted my sound harsh and offensive to others  thus  I wish to voice my apologies in advance but am Releasing My Voice.

Let me just cut it straight to the point, I don't see any valid reason for those who called on a boycott against  Woollies.I clearly don't understand why some of White people want to boycott Woolworth. The fact is that majority of  General workers within the Retail industry are Blacks, Indians and Coloured, you can go to any major retail supermarkets you will find few White people in South Africa the question we should ask ourselves is why Retail Companies do not hire lot of Whites people as general workers but they prefer Africans. Those who are complaining they making it a big issue whereas it shoul'nt be.

The Woolworth's logo which was designed by the media.

According to my opinion I totally think it's a disgrace and an offence to the African race that when retailers want to hire general people they will prefer Africans and ignore white people. I assume that  probably  they might be avoiding something that will cost their companies a lot when they hire white people. But other than that clearly there is still  a confusion pertaining EE (Employment Equity) and AA( Affirmative Action) Acts which ought to be adhered by various organisation when hiring. Therefore it brings a  huge challenge to the Department of Labour to provide a clear meaning of how these acts should be applied and where and when they must  be utilised. The Department of Labour should reinforce on doing the following:

1 They need to re check the definition of EE and AA,where they see mistakes they  must be rectified.
2 The also need to straighten their Education Campaign pertaining the two mentioned  Acts to give more clarity.

By so doing it will help to eliminate unnecessary confusion and social media agruments that may occur in the future.

RELEASE YOUR VOICE.

maybe it is because we blacks are desparate when comming to looking for a job and yes we go fro any open opportunity, while white people start by researching if they realy want to work ina certain enviroment or not

  3. The thing is that there is a huge rate of Africans that are unemployed in this country which is why retail stores prefer Africans to work. But my grievance is disatissfaction of the income they get. Those shops are white owned but rthere employees are black, what I think is that people should be greatful that they get jobs in retail instead of complaining about racism or whatever you call it.

  4. It is wrong to only hire black people and leave out other races but if black people offer excellent services then I don't see the need to complain.

  5. I personally think it is wrong to hire someone just because of the colour of they skin, a person should be hired because the show that they might be good at that specific job.

  8. I think that as a good nation we must always consider peace before everything. Therefore my point is that everyone should be hired to a position that they wish to serve at. Racism was buried a long time ago I do not understand why we should dwell on BLACK AND WHITE tendency.

  9. If we really are a democratic nation then lets us not leave out some ethnic groups to apply for jobs in the name of employment equity

  10. Come to think of it, it is rare to find a white woman sitting on the till in any retail store but than again we could say that maybe black people who apply for the job at a retail store come in larger numbers.

  11. Why is it that African blacks are more prefared than whites? Why cant Woolies just hire an individual because of their hard work and determination? This is a bit questionable?

  12. Dont understand the reason why white people want to boycott for this, because they always want to be on top now that majority of people who buy from wollies are white, whey also want to serve their people?

  13. Is woolworths racist? no, there is nothing wrong with hiring africans for as long as they live up to the requirements needed to become hired.Discrimination on the base of race is wrong however I do not believe that an organisation would hire people that are not competent merely on the basis of race.

  14. Look boss.
At the end of the day its a job ko Woolies, it doesnt require a lot of expertice. Just a strong back and nice uniform.
These days there are an increasing number of whites looking for work, I say Woolies must go to them and have them be the cleaners too.

  15. What Woolies is doing is wrong, they should employ whoever and it shouldn't matter from which ethnic group they belong.
